2020 Week 2 Cats, cars, writing …all the things

It’s been both busy and relaxing around here at different times. We have been doing all sorts around the place over the weekend, including putting together a desk and taking a bed apart for one of the fruits. He is pretty happy with his room now, although it could use some more pictures or some kind of decor for the walls. We might have a look at the thrift shop during the week. We took my car to the repairer to have the damaged assessed and booked it in for two weeks time. At least I have a couple more weeks to gather together some funds to pay my insurance excess. Then I need to save again for a service as the money I had for a service is going towards the repair. Never mind, I’ll get on top of it all soon I’m sure. The beginning of the year seems to have a few unforseen costs this year. My youngest has a special needs stroller that I got two years ago second hand and it decided to finally break yesterday. So we need to source a replacement πŸ™‚ Also our tv broke but I was able to get another one second hand at a very good price, so that’s okay.Honestly though, all I can think about is how fortunate we are.

Our eldest is still in hospital and I miss him so much. I miss his face and his hugs. He is texting a little bit now which is great and he is slowly getting a bit better, which is also great. We still don’t know what is going to happen next for him, or what life will look like. I worry about him being okay after hospital, when he’s not going to be living with us. How will I look out for him? Support him and take care of him? What will that look like? I’m getting better at being okay with the not knowing. I am just grateful that he is safe.

When I look around the world at large, I do worry sometimes. The best way for me to deal with that is to focus on all the good. I immerse myself in being with the people I love and also doing things I love. I’ve been having fun using my new kitchen helper gadgets! I’ve also started the writing I do for my kids home education requirments. I find it easier to write things out, even though I legally could meet the requirments in other ways, it just makes the yearly meeting go quickly and smoothly as I’ve basically done all the work. I’ve been doing it this way for quite a few years now. I just print it all out, put togther a powerpoint of photos of things we’ve done or that the kids have made and voila! It just takes a little time as I’m still doing the write up for my four younger womb fruits. It’s definitley worth it πŸ™‚ I’m so lucky to get to be with my kids and really know each of them. We have lots of fun together and no two days are the same.

We have been watching Anne with an E on Netflix together and it’s so beautifully made. I also binge watched a french show I found by chance called Bonfire of Destiny. Very dramatic in both title and story line, nut I really enjoyed it. Makes sense as I have a penchant for period dramas. I will watch any adaption of any Jane Austen novel πŸ™‚ Usually more than once! I hope your new year is going well so far and that you are safe and happy. xo
