2020 Week 17 All the things…

I was sitting out the front the other day, talking on the phone and a car pulled to a stop in front of the house. As I continued chatting, a man got out and started walking towards me carrying quite a large box. I asked my friend to hold on, as the courier asked if I was me. I answered in the affirmative as I noticed a huge note stuck to the box saying Happy Mother’s Day! I also saw the picture on the box was of a cordless Dyson V11 Outsize!! I’ve seen cordless Dyson’s before and thought wow amazing! I never had spoken aloud to anyone, any inkling of having a desire to own one. Yet here it was! Some of the kids helped me open it and it was a present from my mama!! We sent a photo of me holding the box with a look of shock and happiness on my face and my phone rang almost instantly πŸ™‚ My mum just laughed and told me how she came upon the inspiration to gift me one. I still can’t believe it. Most days I feel pretty blessed because I have so much love, a home, food and everything I could ever need. I wonder sometimes how I am so lucky. I appreciate everything, especially the love of my family. I know, like most people, that life isn’t always without difficulties, for me every day really is precious. I’m not taking anything for granted πŸ™‚ I can tell you, I have never enjoyed vacuuming more in my life! I mean I didn’t dislike it or anything before, I actually don’t mind cleaning and I like the results, but now it’s absolute joy. Mostly, I’m blown away by the thought process and genuine love that went into my mum deciding to do something so thoughtful. A Mother’s Day gift from my mum.

In addition to vacuuming, I’ve started reading How to Eat by Nigella Lawson. It’s my own copy and I’ve had it for awhile, but something just nudged me into picking it up from my bedside table and flicking open to where I last placed the built in book mark. Love it when a book has one of those! I can’t remember the last time I was reading it, but I’m definitely roasting a chicken tomorrow. I’m also going to make some cinnamon scrolls. They have nothing to with Nigella and everything to with my thermomix, which I feel has been sorely lacking my attention. For Mother’s Day I’m going to get myself a Cook Key which is an attachment for my TM5. It basically hooks up to the internet and you get access to loads of cook along recipes and a recipe platform called Cookiedoo where you can meal plan and generate shopping lists for your menu. I’ve wanted one for about two years and it’s currently on sale so now is a good time. It increases the functionality of the TM5 and I’m excited that I’ll use my machine more. Thats the plan anyway.

I don’t know what to get for my mama for Mother’s Day. I’m going to look online and see if I can find something she will really enjoy. I’ll let you know what I find. Now, back to Nigella. xo

    1. It was so sweet πŸ™‚ I’m getting her a cute little slow cooker that is just the right size for one to two people. Last year I sent flowers and a gift basket I think. I hope you have a lovely Mother’s Day πŸ™‚
